A Day In My Life

September 2, 2010
Dear Reader…
Welcome back this week, to “A Day In My Life, By Author Diane K Chamberlain!” This week, on my devotion page…”Time With God”, the title of the devotion was “Truth…the True Gift From God That Keeps Us Free.” We studied 12 different truths, that will help us to remain free through Christ.
This week, I would like to pick up from where I left off on “Time With God” and discuss 2 other passages from God’s word, that will help us to remain free and further away from the clutches of evil.
Another truth that will keep us free, is when we recognize Jesus as the way, the truth and the life and our Bible reference is found in John 14:6, which reads…”Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This verse shows us that we are only going to be able to obtain God’s truth, which can free us; when we come to Him. We need to allow Him to become the way, that leads us to truth and Heaven…we need to allow Him to become the truth that keeps us free from evil, pain and heartache…and finally…we need to allow Him to become the life, that can give us new life, as we allow His life to be lived, in and through us. We will never find freedom from evil or any other circumstance; until we let go of our own thoughts and ways and turn back to God and His truth.
The second truth I have chosen for today is…”How Jesus’ Truth Sets Us Free” and the Bible reference is found in John 8:32, which reads…”Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” God Himself is truth, so when we follow in His ways, then His ways create a way of freedom for us. We need to remember one thing though…Jesus doesn’t give us freedom to do what we desire; He only gives us freedom, as He unveils His own desires for our lives, through us.
You may feel as though you have been caught into a net of bondage. When we feel no hope, then we have a tendency to turn to our own thoughts and ways but a good question to ask ourselves is this…”Is our way working?” If we can say that every thought of our own has failed, then we need to reconsider and turn to God for the answers and truth, that can keep us free and away from bondage.
May we all continue to seek the God of all truth, for His perfect and free gift of truth…the truth that will keep us free and closer to Him. May we continue to find God’s very best for our lives each day!
It’s Only Because of Him…
Diane
